Berries with White Chocolate Sauce

Berries with White Chocolate Sauce

Berries with White Chocolate Sauce… your favorite berries covered in a warm creamy white chocolate sauce! Yum! This dessert is supremely easy to whip up, and is always, I mean ALWAYS a hit. You can use fresh or frozen berries. With or without a dollop of fresh whipped cream on top. The whipped cream isn’t necessary, but is a nice extra if you have the time.

No stovetop needed, a microwave works just fine. Which is how this dish comes together in a matter of minutes. Do use the best quality white chocolate that you can find. I usually use Guittard or Ghirardelli or another premium white chocolate. At the risk of constantly repeating myself, use the absolute best ingredients you can find when cooking. Especially if there are only a few ingredients in the recipe! I promise, it does make a difference!

Sometimes I will stick a few cookies in the side of the bowl when serving. Nilla wafers, chocolate chip cookies or graham crackers are a great side with this simple dessert. And Dunkin Donut cake donuts….they are the WIN with these Berries in White Chocolate Sauce. But if you are in a hurry and just want to serve the fruit alone with the sauce on top, do it. You will not be disappointed! Utterly delicious!

Leftovers? Don’t expect any! But you can store the white chocolate sauce in a jar in the fridge for a few days and reheat in the microwave.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 package good quality white chocolate chips or a block block, chopped I use Guittard or Ghirardelli
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • chopped strawberries, bluberries, blackberries, raspberries fresh or frozen, enough for about 1 cup per person

Instructions

  • Put the white chocolate chips/chunks into a microwave safe bowl.
  • Heat the cream in the microwave in 30 second increments, until hot but not boiling. Depending on the microwave, will be around 2 minutes total.
  • Pour the hot cream on top of the white chocolate and add the vanilla extract. Let sit for a few seconds to allow the cream to melt the chocolate. Stir until smooth. May need to place the bowl in the microwave in 30 second increments to make sure chocolate is melted. Stir well.
  • Put about a cup of fruit in individual serving bowls and ladle the warm white chocolate sauce on top. Can serve with a dollop of fresh whipped cream and cookies or donuts on the side, if desired. Enjoy!
