Spicy Beefed Up Baked Beans
To say my family loves to barbecue/grill/smoke meat is an understatement, and these Spicy Beefed Up Baked Beans are a favorite side to all grilled meats! Years ago, my sister in law Deddie gave me a recipe where she added ground beef to her baked beans. She cooked them along with onions and chopped green pepper. They were really good! But I couldn’t stop there. Had to spice them up!
These beans get alot of flavor from the easiest add in… your favorite salsa! When you consider that all salsas start with a base of tomatoes, garlic, peppers and onion, I thought, why not? What an EASY way to get spicy flavor into those beans! If you have any leftover onions or peppers in your fridge, you can chop them and add those in as well. Any leftover red peppers from my Sauteed Red Peppers with Asiago appetizer, I chop up and throw them in too. Just dump all the ingredients in a big bowl, stir, and pour in a greased pan. I often bake them in a non stick rectangular foil pan for a simple clean up as well.
Spicy, easy, and delicious! These Spicy Beefed Up Baked Beans make a super side dish for ribs, BBQ chicken, brisket or smoked sausage.
