Fruit Salad with Honey Lime Dressing

Fruit Salad with Honey Lime Dressing

Ok, so the dressing part of this Fruit Salad with Honey Lime Dressing is embarassingly simple. And delicious. And can be used with any type of fruit you like. It is essentially a non-recipe, as there are only two dressing ingredients! The reason I am even including this non-recipe on my site is because every single time I serve this fruit salad people ask me about the “dressing”.

What are these two ingredients? Freshly squeezed lime juice and a generous drizzle of Mike’s Hot Honey. You could substitute another spicy honey if desired, but Mike’s is my favorite. I can’t tell you why, but there is something about the sweet spiciness of that honey combined with the tartness of the lime that really brings out the flavor of the fruit. Just perfect!

When thinking about what type of fruit to include, obviously just use your favorites. I typically use a combination of strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, grapes, and banana. I like to use fruit in a range of colors, especially if I am serving to guests. One thing to note is that if you are making this salad ahead of time and are using bananas, do not add the banana until right before dressing the salad. That way, the banana will stay fresh looking and not turn brown.

I normally make Fruit Salad with Honey Lime Dressing a few hours before serving. Simply chop all the fruit (except the banana) into bite sized pieces and layer in a glass bowl. Then right before serving, add the banana, drizzle the dressing ingredients over the top and sprinkle with chopped fresh mint. No need to even stir it. That is it! Too simple, right? But I promise you, when you serve this fruit salad people will be asking you for the dressing recipe. Enjoy!
